This is 'Rough' an Airedale commission I am working on. I have just started laying in the color. After a couple sketches, my client approved this image. Behind him is a shingled barn/shed. This barn is on the owners property and she wanted it included in the portrait. It places Rough home. I haven't been able to meet Rough, as he passed away not very long ago. I'm told Rough was one of those "Once in a life time" dogs and I am hoping that I can convey that through this painting.I have included a cropped image to show the work and detail that I have put into is face, and the image that shows the complete view.
This painting is 7 x 10 inches.
